Description:

If you’re looking to do some meditation in Phnom Penh then Wat Langka, which is one of the five ancient pagodas in the capital, is the place for you.

Wat Langka

Wat Langka in Phnom Penh was founded in 1442 as one of five ancient pagodas in the capital. It derives its name from its previous links to Buddhist monks that would visit from Sri Lanka. There are many monks located here that are highly regarded for their knowledge and dedication to the religion.

Some of the monks speak English and meditation sessions are available on various days of the week. As always, it is advised to check the schedule before attending.

Many tourists visit the wat to see its golden Buddha. The wat contains many historical writings and scriptures. However, please note this is a working monastery rather than a tourist attraction, so make sure you dress and behave accordingly. Also, cremations take place on a regular basis in the wat.
